PARIS (AP) - The world community should be "outraged" by Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein ( news - web sites)'s violations of U.N. resolutions, Secretary of State Colin Powell ( news - web sites) said in an interview published Saturday.
Powell's remarks were published a day after President Bush ( news - web sites) opened a campaign for international support against Iraq with telephone calls to French President Jacques Chirac, Russian leader Vladimir Putin ( news - web sites) and Chinese President Jiang Zemin ( news - web sites).
"The resolutions he's violating are not American resolutions, but United Nations ( news - web sites) resolutions," Powell told French daily Le Monde. "There are nine, and he has violated them all." <<
