I pick up the PWW of the CPUSA every week (along w/ the Workers Vanguard!). Just checked their archiv http://www.pww.org/ but, the kultur article I remember from a few weeks ago does not seem to be included. Anyway, in an interview with a left cartoonist it was remrked that The Nation and other left pubs have a, "anti-visualist, " drab aproach to agit-prop.

Nathan>...the rightwing hates the liberal cultural message of daytime television.

See, http://www.press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/280640.html An interview and excerpt from Freaks Talk Back: Tabloid Talk Shows and Sexual Nonconformity by Joshua Gamson.

And, http://www.jscheuer.com/dissent.htm "The Sound Bite Society, " http://www.thesoundbitesociety.com/ "This is a thoughtful, in many ways amazing book. I thought it was impossible to say anything new about how to think about television until I read Jeffrey Scheuer's provocative meditation. Part polemic, part brief for an intriguing thesis about media and the left (that I'm not sure I buy) and part rainbow of dazzling insights, no student of the media can afford not to read this book and no serious watcher of television will want to miss it."
