"it's not over in afghanistan. as the US becomes more enmeshed, vietnam 
style, genocide could well be the "remedy" of choice. certainly, 
economic conditions in today's afghanistan are silent genocide.

also, all of the economic conditions which brought the taliban to power still 
exists. "northern alliance vs. taliban" is itself a myth as many of the rank 
and file members regularly switch sides depending on who can give them a 
(relatively) better living standard.
