Very surprising report by CBS Evening News reporter Lara Logan in Afghanistan (Thursday Sep 12). She has US Special forces (who are tracking Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan) on video tape discussing their concerns with the direction of the military campaign in Afghanistan. During the interview excerpts these US Special Forces made comments such as:

"this is turning into another Vietnam"

"these kids are going to start dying for the wrong reasons"

"they're throwing rocks at us now, before they use to cheer and laugh, and [were] glad to see us, and offer[ed] us tea."

Wow, very surprised to see this kind of report on the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather. As expected, the remainder of the broadcast simply "touted the US Gov't line" for war in Iraq and continued military action in Afghanistan.

See the real audio clip at: http://origin.cbsnews.com/htdocs/videoplayer/newVid/video_display_new.ht ml?clip=/media/2002/09/12/video521870.rm

I find it interesting that the clip has the date of Sep 8th, but that CBS waited until after Sep 11, 2002 to release.
