I don't think we have to assume that those who turn to the left for analysis would believe that we consider AQ, bin Laden, etc. our "friends," without our repeat reminders that we hate them and cheer when they die.

Some of us said the same thing -- war will take away from international police work -- regarding the war on Afghanistan, and that's not unsound. If that's the main message from the left about the proposed war on Iraq, though, why shouldn't Americans ignore leftists and go straight to sensible Republicans, Arab officials, European politicians, etc. who have been saying the same thing? -- Yoshie
