The Soviets were much more brutal in Afghanistan than the US has been so
far, but that doesn't raise the ire of those who now suddenly beat the
ground in sympathy for their Afghan brothers and sisters. Perhaps that's
because the Soviets performed their slaughter under the leadership of
Brezhnev who, despite his penchant for trading sexist jokes over drinks with
his old pal Richard Nixon, was nobler than W. Right?
