Size of the global credit economy: maybe 80 trillion EUR. Size of the 3rd world debt: 2.5 trillion EUR. The latter could be cancelled overnight, and Deutsche Bank would never know the difference. IMF austerity is worse than a crime, it's positively *unproductive*.
Another way of saying the same thing: imperialism is a substructure of the total system, a.k.a. the global market.
Another world-system is possible.
