Lefty despair

Doug, I carry a few dozen photocopies of Rorty's essay "Private Irony and Liberal Hope" (Chapter four in Contingency, Irony and Solidarity ) around with me and pass them out whenever that happens. It leaves me slightly less dispirited and alienated.
