MOSCOW - Russia is ready to participate in the reconstruction of Iraq after the end of the war, Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov told reporters Thursday.
"Currently, we are working so that all Russian companies that have interests in Iraq immediately return there and resume working after the war comes to an end," he said.
Despite the war, a Russia-Iraq intergovernmental commission that is headed by Yusufov continues to work, he noted.
Russian companies' contracts in Iraq are estimated at about U.S. $42 billion, ITAR-TASS reported. /Prime-Tass/
