Central governments abandon their necessary role in infrastructure maintenance and development (along with all other social obligations) to further enrich the rich -> desperate local governments look for any short-term solution -> gun-at-the-head deals cede further power to direct capitalist control -> (US version:) richer, more powerful corporations increase propaganda, right-wing electoral funding, and lobbying to increase hold on central government power and (rest-of-world version:) kindly encourage neo-liberal gun-at-head deals pushed by the US-dominated international "funding" nexus -> (repeat cycle)
A force of nature, no doubt.
Why call it "the God's honest truth"? Why not just say, "There is no alternative," and give credit where credit is due? It's catchier, and it's secular.
