For a colonel to be relieved of command in a forward
area during combat, that's got to be some serious
situation. If he was promoted, they would have said
so. So if it was disciplinary, what was it, failure to
follow orders or breeching the rules of engagement?
What could cause a bird colonel to get dumped like
that? He pissed somebody off.
