It would be nice if somebody could prove that this was a staged photo op. I suspect that it was staged by the US government, along with that sign about "human shields" that conveniently appeared in front of the TV cameras this morning.
From what I could see in photos, there wasn't much of a crowd for this statue thing. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasa bigger crowd last night celebrating the NCAA win of the Connecticut womens b-ball team. This statue rally is hardly Berlin 1989, yet the TV anchors have no problem making that erroneous comparison.
