Speaking of Stalin, after I interviewed Slavoj Zizek yesterday (to be broadcast this Thursday, and on the web late Thursday/early Friday), he said that when Stalin was devising a puppet government for Bulgaria, he insisted there be a representative parliament. When the parliament was put together and Stalin looked over the membership list - and here Slavoj interjected, "this was the genius of Stalin" - he asked "where are the fascists? There must be fascists if this is a representative parliament." Anyone ever heard this story?
