So?
Which countries of the European Union will commit themselves to declaring war on the USA in the event of an invasion of Syria (or Iran), as Britain and France committed themselves to declare war on Germany in the event of their invasion of Poland?
Why does the Bush administration care about the Mediterranean alliance and so on? In fact, from the pure PNAC point of view, it might be an added attraction of the war on Syria that it demonstrates the weakness and impotence of an alliance with the EU.
