Oh for heaven's sake, Carrol, now you sound like Henry, Hedge Fund Millionaire Maoist Liu.

Norman Thomas risked his life going down south to support the Socialist led Southern Tenants Farmers Union in the 30's of H. L. Mitchell.

Though, to buttress your case, I'll read the Eric Chester book from Monthly Review Press, "Rif Raff, Thugs and Commies, " on the intervention in the Dominican Republic in which Thomas played a role. David McReynolds was pissed at Eric over the books portrayal of Thomas.

And on Socialists in the civil rights movement, James Farmer, Bayard Rustin and many others. Ella Baker in the 30's, according to Paul Buhle was a Lovestoneite.

-- Michael Pugliese

"Without knowing that we knew nothing, we went on talking without listening to each other. Sometimes we flattered and praised each other, understanding that we would be flattered and praised in return. Other times we abused and shouted at each other, as if we were in a madhouse." -Tolstoy
