The Western powers could care less if Mugabe stole the elections - they care that he is throwing a monkey wrench in neocolonialism (white rule through capitalism) Think about all the other countries the World Powers could be sanctioning and questioning - why so much emphasis on Mugabe's so-called stolen elections - do you really think its about concerns for the rights of Zimbabwe pheasants? Please....
If you study history enough, you will see clearly that the interest of Africans was always subverted to the interests of wealth and power ultimately for Western Powers ie England, the US, France, etc. The Western powers don't care about indigenous African people's rights as much as they care about losing the power to strip wealth away from African nations. It is so obvious. The whole reason European countries started to scramble for Africa was because they were running out of natural resources and space in their own countries - Africa is the wealthiest land mass on earth yet its people are the poorest. Is that an accident? Of course not. Huge amounts of wealth leave Africa and end up in the US, Europe and Isreal.
The US is not a benevolent big brother. After all, it has the biggest prison population in the world, does it really care about people? The US executes the mentally retarded, insane and even innocent people - and dna tests have proven this. This is just the tip of the iceberg of course. Why should the US be an example of proper governance? England, France, Belgium were all brutal colonizers and white supremacists not too long ago. Millions of Africans lost their lives to their greed. Why all of a sudden should we trust their "benevolence" to dark skinned people. Their track record alone is very telling. Its still divide and rule while indigenous people worldwide continue to be the poorest and most abused. And it is obvious.
