It is curious how this question of the length and hardness of the penis "pops up" on this list from time to time. Why is that?

When it does, I am not sure it is treated honestly. Joanna, partly, I suspect, because she is a nice person, always seems to re-assure us that size and hardness do not matter (at least to her).

However that is not always the truth, is it(although it may be true for Joanna..I am not accusing her of being dishonest)? My wife told me about a man she once slept with whose member was so small she couldn't feel it. She politely broke up with him after that. That's not politically correct, but she isnt the type to joke about such things either.

As for the other matter, I find it difficult to believe that (the majority) of women dont prefer a really hard dick. Even if I am wrong in assuming the majority, there are at least some who do prefer it. In any case, sex is certainly more enjoyable for a man (or at least me) when his penis is fully engorged in comparison with when it floats at the equator or heads south of the border. North is good. It's physiological and not just an ego thing.

This latter issue can be dealt with by pharmaceuticals like Viagra or yohimbine (or sometimes just the right woman). What's wrong with that? The only problem is this stuff is preventively expensive for a lot of people. A hard dick should be a RIGHT protected by the constitution ;) And the other problem is that there isnt more research into developing sex enhancers for women. Female orgasm is another RIGHT to inscribe on our banners.

Obviously the people advertising these "get-big-dick-quick" pills over the Internet take advantage of men's anxieties over this issue. They exploit the issue and exaggerate the importance. Of course, in a society that turns peoples into monodimensional things ( a wallet, a dick, a pair of breasts) anxieties get blown out of proportion.

Nonetheless physical mismatches do occur. His dick is too big or small for her pussy. I dont know how often that happens but denying that it does happen, rather than discussing it openly and honestly, also increases anxiety as all things "on the hush" tend to do. It reminds me of the treatment of the old judge in Tolstoy's "Life and Death of Ivan Ilyich". (I realize that discovering a link between the phallus and Tolstoy merits some kind of psychoanalysis, or even institutionalization ;)
