No, you're right. Back in the late 80's Pat Buchanan did a piece in the WA Post giving a rough taxonomy of the state power neocons and the libertarian neocons; MF is more in the camp of Robert Nozick than the camp of Scalia, Rhenquist, Cheney etc. [who are state power conservatives that "got there first" in an oblique sense....].
