National Priorities Project has a new feature on their website: a database that lets you see how much money the military steals from social programs. You can choose three things -- your state, a particular military program, and the "trade-off" with a social program. For example:
Taxpayers in North Carolina will pay $1.4 billion for funding request ($75 b) for war in Iraq. For the same amount of money, the following could have been provided: 537,530 Children Receiving Health Care
