This bothers me a bit. How do you define "as radical as circumstances truly demand"? Historically, those who have been "very comfortable (by the world's standards)" have tended to define such action in individualist terms: self-sacrifice for the sake of self-sacrifice, seeking after martyrdom, various levels of terrorism, etc.

What degree of radicalism is demanded now? What does it (or should it) consist of?
