Interesting. When I was doing my State of the USA Atlas in 1993, my researcher tried to track down info on emigration from the U.S. She was told that such stats didn't exist, but that best estimates were that about a third of all immigrants eventually left. No one had a clue how many native-born Americans left. Funny the INS should now be publishing this - during the Bush years, of all things!
