Brad DeLong --- If we accept the premise that the absence of such rights prevents "Castro's dictatorship" from becoming a worse place, then, obviously, their absence is obviously a good thing. It is the lesser of two evils. Duh.
This reminds me of Russian liberals who want the government to simultaneously rein in the oligarchs, corruption and the mafia, while at the same time accusing the government of creeping authoritarianism every time it tries to actually do it. There is nothing more pernicious than a Beautiful Soul.
