Argentine disabled activist, missing

Susana Abalo, Argentine social activist who has multiple sclerosis, has been missing since yesterday, April 24th, 2003. She disappeared from the Law School at the University of Rosario.

She had been victimized three times before by unknown people during the past year, having received threats for her social work in Villa Banana (a shanty town). Susana was raped, tortured, cut and burned by her attackers. She is a wheelchair user and a human rights advocate.

One of her purported attackers - a female policewoman - is currently under custody.
