This attitude that "our message is more important than the presentation" is very on display in the Leftist press, including such ugly publications as Z Magazine.

Amen.

For years, I've nurtured a fantasy that some clever progressive - or collective thereof - would produce factually accurate, yet smoothly presented critiques of the prevailing order.

And, in recent years, wish fulfillment has arrived - in part. Some of the anarchist groups have done theatrical protests that are eye-catching and even fun. Code Pink has burst upon the scene (thank the maker) and even the Democracy Now! team have revamped their website to be user friendly and attractive.

One of my favorite examples of this marriage of hard fact and excellent presentation is the work of Flash artist Eric Blumrich:

There is some truly remarkable stuff here and more people should know about it.

Now, if a Presidential candidate could pour this sort of creativity into a campaign - fearlessly calling the Bushies on their bullshit while keeping us from wanting to change the channel Karl Rove would keel over from fright, bacon double cheeseburger firmly grasped in hand.
