It is telling that he feels there is a case to answer vis a vis Zerzan, who thinks everything developed by humans after an imaginary 'neolithic' is authoritarian... That shows either that he thinks there are many people out there who buy the ultra-asceticist line, or - what comes to much the same thing, psychoanalytically - that he himself feels a tug in that direction.
