Real Warriors Use Panty Liners
WHAT'S UP? Throughout the nation's history, U.S. troops have been highly innovative in coping with harsh field environments, and the heat and grit of Iraq are no exception. Men and women alike are wearing women's disposable, absorbent panty liners under their helmets to keep hatbands from getting sweaty and dirty, and wearing parts of women's pantyhose under socks to prevent chafing on long marches. <...>
WHAT'S NEXT? The Army and Air Force Exchange Service doesn't sell pantyhose in the Iraqi theater they are coming in care packages from home. But the exchange service does sell many hygiene items. AAFES officials say from January through April 3, they sold $1.93 million worth of panty liners, baby wipes and feminine hygiene products to troops in the field. Maybe some innovative entrepreneur will notice this lucrative niche market and be spurred to come up with some camouflage versions specifically for military use.
