Miron Rapaport, journalist and senior editor at Yideot Ahronot, was fired on Sunday from his work at the paper. The announcement of his firing was presented to him after on last Tuesday he acted as Head of desk ( Editor of the news section from that day). The headline that Rapaport gave to an article of Mordechai Galit, "Sharon doesn't speak the truth," awakened the anger of Yideot Ahronot editor Moshe Vardi. Officially Rapaport was presented from the man power manager of the paper that the reason for the firing was cuts.

Rapaport, 40 years old worked at Yideot Ahronot for eight years and was considered a prominent and valued journalist in "7 Days" [weekend news magazine for Yideot]. He wrote about Human Rights and on the Palestinian/Israeli conflict and was published as head article many times in the weekend newpaper supplement magazine. He recently won (along with Aron Mairi and Danny Adino-Ababa) the International "Napoli" Prize for an article on the uprooting of Palestinian olive trees by the hands of settlers and their reselling in Israel, and he is supposed to go next month to recieve the prize.
