Good histories of pacifism in the 30's in, ""Rebels Against War:The American Peace Movement, 1933-1983, " by Lawrence Wittner, http://www.temple.edu/tempress/titles/332_reg.html , "The Strangest Dream; Communism, Anticommunism and the US Peace Movement, 1945-1963, " by Robbie Lieberman which despite the title does have some material on the 30's. And Robert Cohen, "When The Old Left Was New, " on the student radical left of the 30's. And, " Nonviolence in America: A Documentary History By Staughton Lynd Paperback / revised ed. May 1995. There is a nice coffee table book published in the early 80's, on the history of non-violence in the 20th century with lots of photos and accts. of actions like the CNVA against nuclear testing but, I'm blanking on the title or editor. Try calling a local office of AFSC or WRL in NYC.
