WHAT: Press Conference and Lobby Delegation to Senators DeWine and Voinovich. WHEN: Wednesday, August 27, 2003, 1:00 PM -- Press Conference (1:00 PM) and Lobby Delegation (1:30 PM) WHERE: the Huntington Plaza, 37 W. Broad Street, Columbus, OH

Central Ohio residents will meet with district representatives of Senators Mike DeWine (R) and George Voinovich (R) to discuss People's Roadmap for Peace in the Middle East. Our lobbying delegation consists of a cross section of Central Ohio: John Wallace, a Methodist Clergy; Vincent Frosh, a African Methodist Episcopal Zion Clergy; Yoshie Furuhashi, the Student International Forum at the Ohio State University; Joe Keehner, father of a US serviceman who served in the Middle East; Jordan Robinson, a freshman at Ohio University; Muna al-Aseer, the Community Organizing Center; Michael Ravage, a Vietnam War veteran; Heather Kohser, CodePink and NOW; and a representative from Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)-Ohio.

People's Roadmap for Peace in the Middle East: * Bring the Troops Home Now, End the Occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, and Pay Reparations to Iraqis and Afghans * Stop US Military and Financial Support for Israel Until Israel Dismantles All the Settlements, Ends the Occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem, and Abides by All Relevant International Laws, Including United Nations General Assembly Resolution 194 * Appoint an Independent Commission, and Hold Open and Public Hearings, to Investigate the Bush Administration's Lies That Misled Americans into the Invasion and Occupation of Iraq

Our lobbying delegation will invite the Senators to a Town Hall Meeting on a New Foreign Policy for the 21st Century. Our delegation believe that open, public, and democratic debate should shape the future direction of the United States.
