Terrific--Yoshie claims to be in favor of real UN democracy. So am I. Of course, that would entail a) the governments of despotic states wouldn't be represented, since the will of such regimes (contra Hobbes) rarely reflects anything like the collective will of the peoples they govern and b) nations would be represented in a manner proportional to their populations (e.g. France should have a lot more say than Luxembourg).

-So China will have no representation (#1) or a huge representation (#2)? -And who decides who is not despotic. Will the USA lose its representation -due to GW Bush election? -Forget it....it is just about power. It´s a fact of life that those -countries with real power rule, regardless of what the UN decide, and the -only way to contain those countries is armed resistance. No reform of -UN will ever change this, much less reforms who allow no representation -of dictatoships.
