Unless you have telepathic ability I do not see how you can assert this, for it is a claim to understand the motivation of others -- and most of those others are people that you have never met.

I just don't like ascriptions of motive.

And the same people who blame me for being to assertive are the ones who are always making such arrogant assertions about the intentions of others.

In addition, any statement about another person's intentions or motives immediately kills the conversation. What does one say in reply to it without falling into a Says You Says you My old man can beat your old man.
