Joan Walsh of Salon, eighties West Coast correspondent for In These Times, had a piece in Salon that was essentially an endorsement of scumpuppy Gavin Newsom for Mayor.

Carole Migden, left DemocRAT, former member of the SF Board of Supes, now State assesor, if memory serves, is flooding SF answering machines with a pre-recorded msg. saying, "The fate of SF lays in your hands...Vote for Gavin Newsom." The corrupt, corporate liberal patronage machine that has delivered diddly since Phil Burton died for the w/c and poor and middle class, is pulling out the dirty tricks they can against Matt Gonzalez. -- Michael Pugliese American imperialism has been made plausible and attractive in part by the insistence that it is not imperialistic.
