Yes, no one of any race s/b brutalized by our police state. A close friend of mine was choked unconscious by the SFPD Swat Team lead Capt. during the '84 Democratic Party convention here in SF. I see the SFPD all the time pull shit, like a few weeks ago mace a homeless alkie, and the memory here of the SFPD shooting to death a manic-depressive at the Metreon Theater a few yrs. ago and a decade ago hog-tying a disoriented large man high on cocaine, and not getting him to the hospital, until way after he had died of a heart attack, is still fresh in my mind.

But, what gets Woj, is stuff like this>...But the fight with officers did stress -- and, ultimately, stop -- Jones' heart, which was already weakened by coronary disease, high blood pressure, obesity and the intoxicating effects of cocaine and PCP, Parrott said....

...Union leaders have grown weary of pointing out that the 18 men lumped together as "victims of police brutality" include an ax-wielding killer who had just decapitated a teen-ager, a bank robber who shot at a teller as he fled, and a 12-year-old driver who dragged a police officer to his death rather than pull over.

Against the Police State, yes, of coarse, but reforms that institutionalize accountability from PD's. And, honesty from advocates, that some that get the shit kicked out of them or get killed were thugs.
