Is maximizing life chances a good? I am not saying it isn't, but I am curious as to your proof of this assertion.

Why doesn strong individualism make democracy work better? Could it not actually worsen democracy by impairing the people's ability to achieve consensus. Can't there be too many options?

As the Buddha said "Don't confuse the finger pointing at the moon with the moon." I do exist. I just do not have a self -- I am empty (as is all of existence). Since I do exist, names help. But to take a name as an indication of essential existence is a step taken by Western thinkers, not Buddhist ones.
