That's not the point. Christianity, sad to say, is a widely shared belief system that's been around for a very long time and almost certainly will be for much longer. I hate it that politicians trade on it, but appealing to it sure isn't politically suicidal. Appealing to the goddess or the creatures of the forest is loony and marginalizing. I'm all for challenging the masculinist discourse about national defense, but that's not a productive way to go about it. DK is friendly with Shirley MacLaine, isn't he? That's worse than Leon Wieseltier & Barbara Streisand.
