Similarly hear, at LBO, there were numerous messages defaming the war on terrorism, sympathizing with enemies of free world, and slandering Israel.
This is not acceptable.
=================================
I believe you've been mis-reading sir.
When, for example, a poster here refers to the *war on terrorism* as thinly disguised imperialism or a similar type of phrasing, what he or she is actually saying is that the enemies of freedom must be subdued using freedom's tools - also known as bombs and other bits of freedom protecting killingry.
And regarding *sympathizing with the enemies of the free world*, well, I can understand how the rushed reader, overwhelmed by the many time consuming tasks which occupy the days and nights of we busy 21st centurions might reach such a hasty conclusion.
But I ask you to re-consider sir. Let's say, by way of example, that an LBO-ster posts an article about the mis-treatment of prisoners at Camp X-Ray, or foreign journalists visiting these hallowed shores, or vulnerable immigrants and other questionable people. You might conclude from this that sympathy for the free world's many enemies (cleverly masked as innocents minding their business) is being expressed. But in truth, we are seeking a finer tuning of freedom's surveillance, monitoring and suppression apparatus - a vital component of liberty as every right thinking person knows. I believe no less a person than Tom Jeferson wrote a treatise on the subject: *On the Use of Paranoia and Reactionary Politics In The Protection of Liberty*.
Yes of course, it may sound as if we're questioning the words and deeds of Bush II (may his every utterance be obeyed with trembling fealty) but this is simply not the case. We are engaging in subtlety sir, a fine and ancient art. Surely a submitter to *Physical Review* can appreciate this.
And oh, yes, regarding our *slandering* of Israel...
This is the most unfortunate accusation of all.
Unlike other nation states, which should be judged by the intent and results of policies and actions, Israel - like its patron and eternal friend the United States - must be evaluated using a different measure: the perfection of virtue scale.
Having achieved perfection of virtue, Israel cannot be judged and so it's obvious that any and all *criticisms* are, as you say, slander. Since it is slander and we all recognize it as such (what sane person could not?), it follows that what you read is not criticism but praise, disguised as frat-boy style, celebrity roast-esque humor. Even now I'm gently laughing as I recall some of the funnier bits about targeted assasinations, house demolitions and so on.
In closing sir, let me beseech you to turn aside your wrath and give we poor servants of the autarch (also known by those fortunate enough to be in his luminous presence as *Dubya*) another chance to prove our loyalty, even love, for this most perfect of lands as it engages in a war without end that cannot fail (tm).
Your humble servant.
