Or if you want something broader how about Stephen Shalom?
And I second Kelley on Barbara Ehrenreich. She can be very funny in interviews too.
I don't know if Katha Pollitt would fit; because she tends to be more of a critic. Buy hey she is an even better interview than Barabara, and she could criticize your other guests.
