nathan asks: How does Clark attacking a US client dictatorship in Taiwan NOT indicate alliance with the CCP on the mainland?

--one, the rhetoric he used was classic liberal rhetoric, 'take down this berlin wall', 2) clark has been close and beloved by the Taiwan Independence mov't for his anti-KMT politics. That should speak for itself, except for those who can only see Clark in terms of commie loving. ---------------------------------------------------------------- --but emphasizing the dictatorial aspects of Taiwan was very important at the time for deflecting criticism from China in the aftermath of Tienamen Square.

--try again, clark was sympathetic to the independence mov't in taiwan before tienanmen i'm afraid. I find this from the web CV of Lenny Weinglass: 6. Travelled to Nicaragua in 1985 with Ramsey Clark as a member of an official delegation of attorneys and lay leaders.

7. Travelled to the Philippines in 1986 to meet with recently released political prisoners.

8. Escorted Mr. Hsu, a leader of the dissident movement in Taiwan, in his attempted return to his country prior to national elections in December, 1986.

The 1986 event I"m almost positive involved Clark...but when you peg someone as a commie, everything the guy does has to be commie related, eh?
