Saul Zaentz got a standing ovation after denouncing his evil absolutist government at the Bafta awards in London.

[These London awards have been brought forward in the calendar to be ahead of the Oscars, and got good attendance from international films. Possibly also significant of a growing cultural gap, the most awards went not to Chicago and Gangs of New York as gig commerically attractive productions but to Hours
