A lot of the peace movement, especially in Europe, does believe that multilateral force can be justified, precisely because the multilateralism is more likely to indicate general social goals rather than the mere powermongering of unilateral US action.

Take the difference in size between the rallies against the Kosovo intervention and those this last weekend. That is the size of the peace movement that honestly believes that multilateralism and other social goals can justify some military intervention.
