It's time to face down the environment lobby and build many more houses

James Heartfield, co-editor of Sustaining Architecture in the Anti-Machine Age and a director of audacity.org, will be speaking on why we need to build in the countryside at Waterstones bookshop in Covent Garden, 6.00pm on Tuesday 14 January 2003.

The event marks the launch of in the sticks as a monthly magazine, in which James leads with his challenge to make the countryside available as living space. Shaun Castle, Editor, says:

'in the sticks is about people looking for something different in rural living. A new generation moving to the sticks are not only looking for a distinctive property, but care about architecture, design and rural culture.'

Entrance is free with a copy of in the sticks and tickets are otherwise £3.00.
