Most cds are manufactured by a handful of Taiwanese companies, either in Taiwan, or increasingly in China. If they're coming out of Taiwan, chances are it's migrant workers who are actually running the machines. Dunno where the cds are burned. Are they sent back to be imprinted in the imperium, or does the semi-periphery get to burn the center's popular toys? Ditto for the jewel cases and packaging.
