Actually, I think many Americans are overweight not only because of the
crappy food, but because they don't walk. Long working hours, the car, and
the way most cities are built makes walking impossible. All the times in my
life that I didn't have a car, I also didn't have a weight problem: I could
eat anything I wanted and not gain weight. Now I exercise on average an
hour a day, and the rest of the time I drive or sit. I don't exactly have a
weight problem, just ten extra lbs that won't go away.
