On Fri, 10 Jan 2003, President Bush was paraphrased as saying:
> Using the example of a married couple with two children and income of
> $40,000, he said his plan would reduce their federal income tax bill to
> $45 from $1,178, a savings of $1,133.
It just occurred to me -- isn't $40,00 close to the median household income?
So if this plan goes through, from that point forward, half of the population essentially won't pay any income tax at all. Just payroll.
