Marxism explains lots of stuff. So does classical econ. Excuse me nonetheless for rejecting the epistemic smugness of a Fitch or Friedman. (Btw, Easterbrook wrote a great piece on SUVs in the latest issue of TNR--might even be enough to change Carrol's mind on the subject.)
