Of the 17 busses that will going from LA to San Francisco, not one of them has a wheelchair lift on it.... So much for "equality" of opportunity. Marta

Hey Marta,
Just to piss you off, about four out of the ten people's chairs I worked on today were getting marching type maintenance: bearings, tires, brakes, checking out mysterious noises that worried them.
So at least two chairs there will have new tires, along with new bearings and some nice tight brakes. One will have a mystery noise that I couldn't figure out, and one guy will have those easy pushing high pressure tubular tires.
It was actually quite funny, because I couldn't figure out why I was getting one tire job after another all morning. Then when I asked, so are you heading over to SF tomorrow for the demo, the answer was a smile and yes, of course.
I have to work tomorrow, although I suppose I could have taken off. I was seriously thinking about taking off anyway and taking my camera with me, but I'll be alone in the shop tomorrow because the other guy put a screw driver through his hand on Wednesday and has been out all week. I can't wait to tease him, because he gave me a rash of shit after I put a power drill bit straight through two fingers. What goes around, comes around, Dude.
In any event, most of people who came through today for check ups and maintenance were not leftists, but what I would call old fashion liberals. For example one couple were in their sixties. He works in the state supreme court administration division that oversees conduct of state judges and courts. He was in his disguise which is an SF Giants baseball cap pulled down low, and a windbreaker---rather than his dark suit and tie. Another guy works in some software company. A third guy probably qualifies as a progressive or leftist---he's in a disabled dance troupe and spends a lot of time in Russia.
One shop debate today was whether it was going to be more of an anti-Bush or anti-war demo. But I figure they are about the same. In fact wouldn't that be a nice consequence of the more moderate tone?
