The chief problem with Todd Gitlin is that he is a lousy "expert" on peace movements, including the 1960s. I can't remember the number of times I've wanted to hurl the radio over the years when NPR had him on as some fucking expert.
Can we do something to convey to NPR that Gitlin doesn't have a clue what he's talking about, be it the 1960s or contemporary activism?
Why don't we just organize the peace movement to conduct a pledge boycott of NPR?

"The state can't give you free speech, and the state can't take it away. You're born with it, like your eyes, like your ears. Freedom is something you assume, then you wait for someone to try to take it away. The degree to which you resist is the degree to which you are free..." ---Utah Phillips
