Sheila Fitzpatrick, below, has an excellent book full of diary entries from the fSU in the 30's. "Everyday Stalinism, " published by Oxford Univ. Press. Lutz Niethammer,btw, also below, has a book from Verso, "Post-Histoire." Michael Pugliese --- That's the hellish 1930s. I'm thinking Brezhnev. I realize Westerners think Brezhnez was some kind of demon, but he was fine. Much more popular than idealistic dickhead Gorbachev.
