Amen. I think of the Center as a spotlight. Where it falls upon the political stage marks the place for moderates and reformers. The nay-saying disembodied voices from the dark corners of the stage are extremists and hardliners. The problem with Political Realism comes when it treats the lamp up in the rigging as a force of nature, rather than the human wielded instrument it is.
