Well, yes.
I'm sorry, I really can't help but conclude otherwise when I see these methods again and again: The cynical Big Lie laughed off when it is no longer needed, the equally cynical candor that just dares polite society to challenge it (and knowing that it won't), the pride invoked again and again not only in militarism but assassination, violence, and brutality.
These people revel in thuggery. They LIKE it. The only "allies" this group really abides are under a toe of the boot. I mean, they've all but explicitly rejected the very idea of the legitimacy of diplomacy.
BTW, I don't know whether Israel will prove a special case. It will probably depend on which thugs in the Bush admin come out on top in the end.
I know many (most? all but me?) on this list see these people as acting within the admittedly horrendous parameters of "normal" capitalist imperial brutality. Simply, I respectfully disagree; I see them as beyond that, and I'll leave it there for now.
